Framed as a mockumentary, Aavasa Vyuham is a movie based on human-nature relationships where the story’s protagonist is a mysterious man capable of bonding with nature and animals. But Joy faces problems in communicating with human beings surrounding him, and the difficulties he faces due to that form the base of the story.
Drafted as a mockumentary, Aavasa Vyuham is a document about a socio-political and geopolitical truth of a place known as Puthuvype, a part of a beautiful island with an extensive mangrove forest. This particular spot is entrenched in the public consciousness of the people in Kerala due to the inauguration of an LPG (Indian Oil Corporation) Terminal.
Joy (Rahul Rajagopal) is the protagonist of the story. He is a man who has a mysterious bond with nature. Colonies of frogs and schools of fishes swim towards Joy when he strangely calls them. There is an evident link between Joy and the frog.
Throughout the movie, his identity is enveloped in mystery. Being disconnected from the humans around him, Joy’s interaction with the people surrounding him and the problems caused in doing so forms the basis of the movie. Besides the hunt for a rare amphibian species, this film is about the chase of the mysterious protagonist Joy himself.

The movie features interviews with the people Joy is acquainted with. The dispute between humans and nature is intense, like the inner protagonist faces. This movie beautifully brings down the habitual correlation between the environment and women.
The eloquence of nature and the semantics of fantasy is intact throughout this magical movie. There is also an extent for linguistic analysis. The competently named protagonist is simply an embodiment of the joy of identity with nature.
The narrative of this film oozes with direct and free-flowing air of pun. The title has the undertone of a labyrinth that symbolizes the inescapable ties between humankind and nature. The nickname of the characters is of animals who personify a particular human character.
Vishnu Prabhakar’s cinematography and Ajmal Hasbulla’s music heighten the experience of the whole vibe. The incredible performance by Geethi Sangeetha (as Madhusmita), Zhinz Shan as (Susheelan Varma) and Nileen Sandra as (Lissy) deserve a big honor.
Though the narrative did not give them much opportunity to express their emotions sincerely, the way they performed throughout deserves applause from the audience.
Aavasa Vyuham is a movie whose message and method have been transformed prodigiously by the director. Aavasa Vyuham is a must-watch in the theatres to get the complete adventure of the film.
