However, the most eye-catching performance was that of Christian Bale, who played the villain Gorr, after his success in DC’s Dark Knight series. Gorr, distraught after his daughter’s death, sets out to destroy other gods. Director Taika Waititi has done brilliantly in the battle scenes where Thor and his team enter into action. The screenplay during the action scenes has been well augmented and it makes sense during the intense action sequences.

The comic element is also there in the movie with jokes, punchlines, and other moments of laughter. Just like any other Marvel Movie, Thor Love and Thunder also has an element of surprise which is associated with Jane Foster in the film. She has stage four cancer and this film properly justifies her role and gives her a deserving farewell. Her relationship with Thor is refurbished and the theme of eternal love is glorified.

The Asgardians, after the events of the blip, seem settled on Earth, in a new town called New Asgard. Gorr the God Butcher, as they say, is the perfect villain to bid adieu to a significant character in a Thor-based movie. Despite all its fervor and positivity, Thor: Love and Thunder lacks a proper tone.

In one scene where Gorr attacks New Asgard during the dark of the night, it is impossible to figure out what happens. Also, in the part where Thor and Co. seek out the help of Zeus and other Gods, their response is something that would not be up to the expectations of a vintage Marvel fan to the Marvel movie.

Though it lacks overall freshness, Marvel’s Movies are better with their bolder and more dramatic scenes. At times, it becomes incredibly hilarious, but the brutal honesty that exists when two people are in love is also shown. The cancer-based storyline of Foster is worth drawing attention to as it tests their relationship and the strength of their love.

There are many emotional moments that are the highlights of goodness that exist in Marvel’s movies. Waititi has been bold enough in using color, VFX, and other theatrical elements to lure the typical action fans. This film is not without issues, but Waititi continues to demonstrate how distinctive big movies can still be if their creators continue to embrace some of their darkest and most comedic concepts. Fair enough, any Marvel fan would enjoy this sequel and it would not at all be less entertaining.
