Shoorveer Web Series Plot
Shoorveer Web Series is about an elite commando force formed by the government, the Hawks, a joint task force of the Army, Air Force, and Navy. These joint task forces undergo specialized training with Special Forces operative Ranjan Malik to become India’s first responders’ crack unit against Red Tapism- level 3 and higher threats capable of coordinated attacks from air, sea, and land. The story is about the squad’s journey, the members fighting for the nation as one unit, along with the personal battles.
Review of Action Shoorveer Web SeriesÂ
This drama delivers right from the first episode, a thrilling series of a free-spirited fighter pilot and navigator Viraj Seghal (Armaan Ralhan), using skills to prevent a jet plane collision in the center of Pune. It then shows us a terrorist attack on a resort, a passage into NSA’s Milind Phanse (Makarand Deshpande) proposing Project Hawks to fill in the gaps in Intel and coordination between Army, Air Force, and Navy.
The project will be led by Group Captain (GC) Ranjan Malik (Manish Chaudhary), who will be commanding and training the first responders’ crack unit, bringing together the best of the three wings of the armed forces. This team will have a single chain of command and will be away from Red Tapism and delays.
Thus the mission to prevent an impending attack by Pakistan’s general Riyaz (Arif Zakaria) that’s been developing for years begins. The drama follows Hawks as they train to be a step ahead of their enemies. Besides, they also overcome their fears and demons while standing by each other’s side.
Shoorveer Web Series has the correct elements for being a good thriller, but it fails to attract viewers who have probably watched more engaging espionage thrillers. In some parts, this thriller is gripping, especially where we can see the Hawks fighting to protect the nation as a unit. But in other places, the story falls flat.
The characters and their performance is the strength of this show. Manish Chaudhary, a seasoned actor, was perfect as GC Ranjan Malik. Makarand Deshpande, known for his acting skills, was outstanding as Milind Phanse. It will be a blessing to see him often on screen. Regina Cassandra, whose debut was through Rocket Boys, delivered a convincing performance as fighter pilot Avantika Rao, a character dealing with her inner turmoil and facing challenges while skillfully performing her tasks.
Armaan Ralhan performed the role of Viraj quite convincingly. He is a maverick pilot who turns out to be an asset for the Hawks.
The background score for Shoorveer Web Series was the most disturbing at times. The fast-paced music and a fighter plane roaring in the background do not match together. The series could have had more thrilling situations. But the show’s narrative, Kanishk Varma’s direction, and the dialogues delivered are crisp.
Overall, Shoorveer Web Series is filled with action and thrill, from ground warfare to Air combat operations and espionage, that will keep the viewers at the edge of their seats. It is fun to watch mainly because it is a brave step for Indian Ott platforms and delivers high-skilled production values, which the audience is not used to. Shoorveer Web Series is a good one-time watch for the audience to binge on during the weekends, and this series is currently being streamed on the ott platform Disney+ Hotstar.
