Tapsee Pannu is one of the most celebrated actresses when it comes to acting and choice of script. She primarily works in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi films and has given many Bollywood hits after her debut in B-town. She has worked in films like Kanchana 2,  Ghazi, Game over, Chashme Baddoor, Judwaa, Mulk, Pink, Badla Mission mangal, Sandh ki aankh, and Haseen Dilruba though the list is long. 

Her previous release Dobaaraa which was made with the collaboration of the director Anurag Kashyap was a flop at the box office due to some controversial remarks made by the actress. Her latest release Blurr Movie is directly gone for an ott release. Before Blurr, her film Looop Lapeta also premiered on ott(Netflix) in February 2022.

Tapsee Pannu Blurr Movie is streaming on Zee 5 today. Directed by Ajay Bahl and produced by Zee studios it is a suspense thriller and is a remake of the Spanish movie Julia’s Eyes. 

It is the story of Gayatri and Gautami(both roles played by Tapsee Pannu) who are twin sisters. Gautami lives in a hilly region alone and suffers from vision problems initially which soon turn into a completely faded vision. Whereas Gayatri resides with her husband Neel. Gayatri comes to visit her sister Gautami at her place and to her surprise she sees her hanging to death. All the evidence and the corroborated situations clearly hint that it is a suicide but somehow Gayatri rejects to believe all the opinions and starts investigating her sister’s murder. 

Gayatri sometimes feels that a person is following her in the house she becomes petrified that her murder could also be committed in the same way as her sister’s. Will she be investigating the case properly and finding out the truth behind her sister’s death or will she fall in the same trap as her sister? The story revolves around the same and to unfold this tragic chapter tune in to Zee 5.

Blurr Movie: The Review 

It seems tapsee is into remakes these days. She has already delivered two remakes considering Looop Lapeta which was a remake of Run Lola Run and Dobaara, a remake of the Spanish film Mirage. Blurr Movie is also a remake of a Spanish thriller of 2010 that is Julia’s Eyes. 

Taapsee Pannu as compared to her previous year’s script choices, acting, and screen presence has shadowed a bit. Looop Lapeta and Dobara did not make it well to the box office and to the critics as well in the same way Blurr also has a very weak screenplay and story and looks scattered with a depressing notch. The character development especially in the film has not been made well and the backgrounds they follow mislead the story in a certain way. 

The underdeveloped story irritates you at points with the incident that happens which is not normal at all. Stupidity which is shown from the side of Gautami looks weird and insane to a level that the attachment of the audience deviates very easily leaving no emotions subsided. The writing definitely disappoints you as the execution and implementation of the climax, screenplay and story fail to connect the dots. 

Taapsee Pannu is average while playing Gayatri and Gautami at once. Gulshan Devaiah as Neel has stability. Abhilash Thapiyal, kiritika Desai have carried it off well. Nitya Mathur and Sumit Nechavar looked well in the supporting cast. Irrespective of the film being carried out well by the actors the weird story direction and execution overpower it all. 

The thrill is definitely missing from the film failing the direction. If you are a Tapsee fan, the movie should be given a chance otherwise spare yourself from watching if you are hunting for a good crime thriller.
