Mimi was born on 11 February 1989 in Jalpaiguri in West Bengal where she spent her childhood in Arunachal Pradesh in Deomali.
Mimi was educated at the Holy Child School in Jalpaiguri and later at St. James School in Binnaguri.
Mimi graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2011 from Asutosh College in Kolkata.
Mimi started her career as a model before starting her acting career. She also participated in the Femina Miss India.
