In the new ott releases, the story revolves around two parents Neelam Krishnamoorthy (Rajshri Deshpande) and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy (Abhay Deol) who seek justice on behalf of other victim families who lost their loved ones in the fire that destroyed the Uphaar Cinema in 1997. The new releases on ott Trial by Fire is based on real-life events in the screenplay are quite realistic and the camera work is exceptional especially when they hide the Ansal brothers’ faces which is satisfactory.

The performances of actors like Abhay Deol as Shekar Krishnamoorthy who lost his children and wants justice for them are extraordinary. The character has developed up to the 7th episode. Rajshri Deshpande as Neelam Krishnamoorthy. Her performance was notable as a mother who wants justice for her children who died in a fire tragedy.

The performances of other casts like Ashish Vidyarthi as Neeraj Suri prove again that he is a flawless actor who fits in every character. Anupam Kher portrays Captain Hardeep Bedi who supports the Krishnamoorthy family and joins them in their quest for justice. He once again demonstrated that he was a prominent actor. 

Ratna Pathak Shah, who plays Mrs. Bedi, does a commendable job in this new ott release. 

Prashant Nair and Kevin Luperchlo have directed this web series, based on the Uphaar Cinema Fire Incident, which is the first time on ott. Could open their eyes and witness the pain of the family who lost their children in that incident.

The owners of the Uphaar cinema are the Ansal brothers named Keswani. Their faces are not seen but the creators show their overcome and pretend not to be responsible for the incident they want to suppress all the victim’s families, especially Neelam and Shekhar as most of the rich misuse their money and power as showcases well. 

Border’s well-known song “Sandese Aate Hai” is set in 1997, and the phone and movie theaters look very naturalistic. The hottest Netflix series questioned the safety of cinema halls at that time, asking what would happen if we died in the cinema wall while watching the movie. 

The question of whether Indian law is too weak and whether the system should be changed. While watching the series you may feel slow but sometimes emotional, or maybe your eyes will fill with tears.

On the 13th of June 1997 during the premiere of the Border movie, a fire incident caught  in the Uphaar cinema owned by Ansal Brothers. In the incident, 59 people died and 103 were injured. The fire was caused due to an irregular maintenance crash in the precautions.

The case of the Ansal brothers against the victims and their families had them fighting with them for 20 years. The Association of Victims of Uphaar Fire (AVUT) has filed a civil compassion case. The verdict was the Ansal brothers have to give compensation which have to paid to the victims as their family of 1997 Uphaar Fire Tragedy which was deceased have due to 20 years of deleyed Rs. 18 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh each; for those victims who below 20 years from Rs. 15 lakh to Rs. 7.5 lakh.

The final verdict which was given in November 2021, the Delhi court sentenced the owners to seven years in jail and fined Rs 2.25 crore for every victim’s family for destroying the evidence.
