The screenplay was well written, which is good in recent times. The story is set after 30 years when the new generation comes to train them in a realistic situation.
Tom Cruise’s performance as Captain Pete “Maverick” Mitchell was particularly impressive. A classic alpha-male character who is nostalgic and well-performed, and his charm as Tom Cruise is enchanting.
In this movie, he is 59 years old but age is a number for him, and his charm and acting are flawless.
In the previous film, he was accused of his friend’s death, which was also seen in this movie.
Val Kilmer as Adm. Tom ‘Iceman’ Kazansky gives his special appearance which brings back memories for cult classic movies fans. Jennifer Connelly as Penny Benjamin. Her performance in the movie was stellar and she became a love interest in the movie.
Their chemistry in the movie was quite good. We missed Kelly McGills and her push-pull chemistry with Tom Cruise. The performances of the other actors are quite different.
