The Night Manager Review: Script Analysis

The Night Manager Review: Aditya Kapoor and Anil Kapoor OTT debut with the engaging thriller full of suspense

The Night Manager is a Hindi adaptation of John le Carre’s 1993 novel of the same name. The original was a big hit which was helmed by Susanne Bair and penned by David Farr. It was aired on BBC 1 in 2016 and proved to be a massive hit by winning many awards in EMMY and Golden Globe Awards.

Now Sandeep Modi has come up with its Hindi version starring Anil Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor. While Anil is taking the character of Hugh Laurie and Aditya is essaying the character of Tom Hiddlestone. It is quite a difficult job to remake any film or series as you already have a mark of the original one.

Even though the English series, The Night Manager was a big hit, it hasn’t been able to make its path to the Hindi audience. I previously also we have seen the TV series ’24’ by Anil Kapoor which was a remake of US TV series, which became popular in India as it was in Hindi.

One thing the makers have to keep in mind is that they shouldn’t lose the soul of the original one. Sandeep Modi has beautifully maintained the originality with some tweaks which goes with the storyline and gives a twist later in the series.

Anil Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor are very promising in their roles as it is also Aditya Roy Kapoor’s OTT debut along with Anil Kapoor. Tillotama Shome excels in her role by bringing the two main leads face to face. You would love to watch Saswata Chatterjee as Brij, a notorious character with a funny angle, he blends the two shades very well.

Sandeep has played blind on the Night Manager by releasing 4 episodes in 1 season and the rest are to be released in the second with a climax.

Keeping the audience in a cliffhanger situation, where too much competition prevails among the streaming giants to grab the attention. This idea will only help him out if the 1st season earns massive applause from the audience. Arriving on the weekends will engage you with its thrill and drama. Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, it is a must-watch web series that can make you sit on the edge of your seat.
