Hotstar Crime Thriller Rudra Plot, Story, And Review
Rudra: The story revolves around the genius officer Rudra veer Singh (Ajay Devgan), whose mind works like a cunning and Grave criminal and because of that most people don’t support him. It opens up with a man running on the edge of the terrace where Rudra Veer (Can we call him Rudra now) can also be spotted. He is a brave DCP and the man who was the kidnapper. Rudra catches and throws him from that building and eventually the man dies.
In the same way the story moves forward, each episode carries a different story but the unusual interrogation of Rudra is the main part of the drama. He has received a suspension order for his behavior parallelly he is shown as the most capable cop in the department.
Rudra’s personal life is also depicted at places where his marriage with Shaila (Esha Deol) is not smooth. The evolution in their relationship during the interrogation is different to see amidst the crime and zeal. 45-55 minute long episodes have though been successful in tying up the audience with it. How Rudra gets into the psychology of the criminals and solves the cases is interesting to witness.
Ajay Devgan OTT Debut Series Rudra: Review, Is it worth watching?Â
Rudra: A 6-episode series full of violence to the extent has a runtime of 45 to 55 minutes and it is based on a British drama series called ‘Luther’, Calling it an exact Hindi remake of Luther would not be a bad idea though, Luther was a great series as compared to it, Rudra will disappoint you a better if you are a Luther fan otherwise if you are watching ‘Rudra’ directly without watching Luther this will prove as a decent thriller made which will be a good time pass as each episode has a new flavor to offer.
Rudra is seen investigating and interrogating new cases in each episode. The process of Investigation is a different touch and soul of the series which will keep you intact till the end. Makers have also tried to involve Rudra’s personal life but it seemed boring in places. Esha Deol, passive expression is not worth appreciating.
The series does not go at a fast pace as usual, the first two episodes are cold enough but after that, the craving to binge-watch moves nearer. The continuous feel of tension, intense emotion, high energy, and thrill are subtle and appropriate as expected from OTT thrillers. Each and every episode is loaded with the arrival of a new criminal and the process leading to all these will be a surprise for the audience that fear and insanity is perfectly blended in this one.
ConclusionÂ
Ajay Devgan as always is acting brilliantly the character of Rudra is a total hit. The supporting cast is also good but the negative characters of ‘Rudra’ are brilliant and have been successful in shining through the series. If we go on the editing part, it is not that great as a result of which the start is not appropriate as sometimes deviates from the core plot but somehow still holds the attention at points. Ignoring the minor blemishes though, overall ‘Rudra’ on Hotstar (OTT) is a decent thriller to catch up with.
