Indian Short Film Juice Plot, Story, And Review

The plot of ‘Juice’ is indeed the real hero of the short film. The whole plot is so nicely set up and presented that even the minimal dialogues from the lead make the greatest impact on the audience.

The film is about a family gathering taking place in the Singh Family. Brijesh Singh and Manju Singh are the hosts and Manju is the center of the story. The film shows how women are discriminated against in society by men by all means possible.

The men of the family often raise topics that are highly feminine oppressing in nature. All these are just jokes for the men while Manju gets mildly affected by all these small factors and thus, creating a larger impact towards the end of the movie.

The gathering is a luxury to the males while a matter of huge difficulty to the females as well as the maid, Parbhatiya. Getting no help from the men, managing the kids, taking care of food, dishes, and plenty of other factors lead to creating a good haphazard inside Manju.

And at last, we see a frustrated Manju getting herself a glass of juice, dragging a chair to the drawing room among men, sitting in front of the water cooler and relaxing for a moment. This one fine scene acts as a befitting reply from the women to the society and the film ends right there.

Neeraj Ghaywan has done a brilliant job in creating the perfect scenario of a middle-class family gathering through his direction. And this, along with the actor’s contribution made the film one of the most watched videos on YouTube in the short films domain.

All the characters have done a remarkable job, from the ignorance of Brijesh towards the house chores to the lower class discrimination done with the maid, everything is well placed and acted.

Even in a short span of thirteen minutes, the hardships faced by the women in their daily lives are effectively portrayed. Feminist slangs become common in conversations of men and the ladies are supposed to take it with a smile.

The lady who is toiling hard in the kitchen, making food for the men in immense heat is supposedly weak when it comes to working in the real world among men. The struggles of working pregnant women are also nicely put on screen by Manju.

It is quite evident through her nature how difficult it was for her to choose between her kids and career and eventually, she had to sacrifice her career for her family.

Conclusion Of Best Youtube Short Film Juice

Female discrimination starts from the very beginning, when a girl child is asked to serve dinner to men whereas the boys of the same age are enjoying and playing video games. All these nicely put details contribute to the excellence of ‘Juice’, getting it two Filmfare awards. To watch This Indian Best Short Film Watch Online On YouTube.
