Keeping the surprises pouring in there are so many theatrical and OTT releases that are scheduled for release. Dhoomam, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, and Por Thozhil are some major drop-ins. Let’s have a detailed look.

1. Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Part 2

With over 15 episodes and two seasons, Lincoln Lawyer rules the chart among one of the most successful legal dramas on Netflix. It’s a series based on a novel and originally premiered on Netflix in 2022 and after getting a positive response the makers announce it will be renewed for season 2. 

The story revolves around Mickey Haller(Manuel Gracia Haller) who is a lawyer and takes up on big and small cases. His journey of litigation is the flavor of this Netflix series. Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Part 2 is ready to stream bringing you the tale of cases fought by Mickey. This part 2 will have 5 episodes in total. 

2. Made In Heaven Season 2

Created by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagati, this prime video series is about a newly established wedding planning agency called ‘Made In Heaven’ that is managed by Tara Khanna(Sobhita Dhulipala) and Karan Mehra (Arjun Mathur). The story strikes a balance between the personal and professional life of both of these business partners. 

Each episode showcases a wedding and the struggle behind to get the bride, groom, and families on the same track. The subplot of the series is about their personal life story where Tara Khanna deals with the extramarital affair of her husband and Karan Mehra struggles to make society accept that he is gay. 

3. Guardians of Galaxy Vol 3 

The most anticipated and much-awaited among upcoming films in August 2023 is Guardian Of Galaxy Vol 3. After a major theatrical success, it is all set to be listed among ott releases this week. 

Pushing the boundary of storytelling and taking a good pace the movie gives a satisfactory ending. The story is about the re-attack of Guardians of Galaxy by Adam. Peter Quill(Chris Pratt) has to save it though he has still not recovered from the loss of Gamora. Guardians Of Galaxy vol 3 ott release kept on changing drastically but finally, it is set to stream on Hotstar from August 2, 2023.

4. Choona

Jimmy Shergill upcoming web series Choona is busy creating buzz. It’s going to be a chronicle of a politician. A group of 4 people accidently meets each other and finds that they share a common enemy therefore they plot against him seeking revenge.

5. The Hunt For Veerappan

An upcoming Netflix documentary series promises to carry a story that is still unheard of and unseen by most. A real story of a criminal who crossed the forest of South India running from Tamil Nadu Police. An award for 4 crores was also kept for whoever catches Veerapan but that too turned out unfruitful. The 20 years long hunt continued and the Tamil task force launched a ‘mission cocoon’ for the same. This upcoming documentary digs deeper into the complexities that were faced during that time. 

Directed by Selvamani Selvraj this documentary is helmed under Apoorva Bakshi and Monisha Thyagarjan productions. Apoorva was also one of the leading producers of the Netflix series Delhi Crime. 

6. Dhoomam

Made under Homable films Dhoomam is all set to make its ott mark very soon. The story is about a marketing person named Avinash who leaves his high-paying job at a cigarette company. As every decision comes with the consequence this too had one. 

7. Heart Of Stone

Alia bhatt Heart of Stone is an American Spy Thriller and enclaves the story of a woman who works for a peacemaking organization. Heart of Stone is Alia Bhatt Hollywood debut movie which is premiering directly on Netflix. 

Alia as Keya Dhawan is all set to rule the heart from her Hollywood franchise whereas her Bollywood film Rocky or Rani Kii Prem Kahani box office collections are still making a boom. 

8. OMG 2

After going through radical changes, the OMG 2 release date was announced by Akshay Kumar. This film was made as an ott centric and was supposed to release on jio cinema but after several producer meetings, it got shifted to the theater. The story of OMG 2 is about Kanti Sharan Mudgal, who is a devotee of Lord Shiva. The film is about belief and faith in religion. 

OMG 2 cast is a cluster of exceptional and experienced actors with Pankaj Tripathi and Akshay Kumar by your side. It’s the most prominent among Upcoming films in August 2023 as it will have a box office competition with Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel starrer Gadar 2.

9. Gadar 2

Sequel to Gadar Ek Prem Katha Gadar 2 will continue the same story of India and Pakistan rivalry. 

Initially following the story of 1971 India and Pakistan war, the story will continue in the loop where Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) goes back to Pakistan to bring his son who is with his maternal family. 

10. Guns and Gulaabs

Directed and produced by Raj & DK, it’s a Hindi-language crime thriller that has prominent faces like Dulqueer Salman and Rajkumar Rao. If there is Raj and DK there clearly is no disappointment. 

The family man, Go Goa Gone, Farzi, and Shore in the City are some of the unconventional stories given by Raj & DK. Coming back to guns in Gulaabs trailer, it is dropping soon in the second week of August, it will be an epic Saga of 90s retro style thriller.
