Directed by Shantanu Bagchi, and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Amar Butala, and Garima Mehta the film is a bit about what comes from hearing the name ‘Majnu’.
The movie is a brilliant patriotic movie by Sidharth Malhotra after Sher Shah and he has just nailed it with his acting, action, and dialogue delivery. it’s glazing with positive reviews all over and is definitely a must-watch and a perfect release for 26th January. The film starts with a disclaimer that it is inspired by true events the story revolves around the 70s amidst the India-Pakistan war. The film has an IMDB of 9.5
The story in precise is about retaliation of Pakistan regarding the nuclear bomb testing of India in Pokhran in 1974 and then they accelerated their own nuclear program. The movie has aroused many emotions with suspense, rage, and Patriotism devotion towards the country.
Mission Majnu is a story of an agent in disguise Ajit Pal Singh(Siddharth Malhotra) who is a RAW agent and resides in Pakistan as Tariq. He falls in love with Nasreen (Rashmika bandanna) who is blind, irrespective they both share a cute love story and later they marry. Later Tariq is assigned a very secretive and important task by India’s RAW chief, who gets secret information that Pakistan is making its own nuclear bomb.
The task is really tough in the 1000 multiples of water that appear to read a watch. Tariq has also been given assistance from two raw agents who are based in Pakistan itself, Raman Singh (Kumud Mishra) and Aslam Usmaniya ( Sharib Hashmi).
Tune in to Netflix to follow on the later event and how this mission was achieved or whether it broke out in the Midway. We can assure you that it is one of the best Patriotic films in recent times.
Mission Majnu Review: Script Analysis
When it comes to matching up the storyline it is nothing new as we have already witnessed many Patriotic films based on RAW agents or secretive missions that lead to the survival of the country but Shantanu Bagchi who is the Director and Parvez Shaikh, Sumit Batheja, and Aseem Arora who are the writers of the film have made sure that it looks a little up work than what a cliche should be defined, hence even though film carries a regular story it does not look like an old ragged on the plot.
The film is definitely based on facts that are pioneered in the event at that time but is a mix of fiction at the same level. Ajit Pal Singh is shown as one of the most hard-working and best cadets in his Academy.
The film also carries a love story between Ajit Pal Singh and Nasreen but that nowhere looks overburdened on the main plot as the love story is filmed in a way that it forms a larger part of the mission they need to accomplish.
The way the channel of getting information has been portrayed looks very regular and convincing in fact that involves the audience too. The screenplay in the climax of the film is really great and is one of the best patriotic films.
Apart from being a patriotic touch, the film has an emotional angle as Nasreen being visually impaired is loved so heartfully that clearly shows that love has no bound and the internal beauty is praised there which was heart-touching. If compared to SherShah which was an emotionally moving film that left tears in the end but Mission Majnu is nothing short of it and has emotion but the Patriotism, suspense, thriller, and the rate of revenge are much more to overpower the emotional angle given.
It’s a must-watch film for sure. For movie reviews and ott, updates do follow seriesonott on a regular basis.
