The film stars Late Puneet Rajkumar and Priya Anand in the lead role is the story of the world of mafias. Puneet Rajkumar (Santosh) runs a security firm and is called to protect Srikanth Meka(Vijay Gayakwad), a drug dealer who was threatened by other drug lords. James has been released on 17th March 2022 and is being exclusively streamed on the ott platform SonyLIV on 14th April 2022. The movie has been produced by Kishore Pathikonda. The movie has Puneet Rajkumar’s posthumous appearance following his tragic death on 29th October 2021.

JAMES Movie Plot
The strong sense of sorrow that comes with the awareness of the fact that it will be the last time we would see Puneeth Rajkumar on the screen, can’t be escaped by the viewers. The movie releases on his birthday on 17th March 2022. The movie releases under a tragic circumstance that makes it more special for the fans.
In the beginning, the audience is introduced to the world of James by the voice of the narrator saying “The world is divided into three types of markets”. This world, centered around a very serious and secretive market, is skillful with ruthless and masculine men in charge, stylish cars, and suits. This world is the center of crime and infamy.
The film is about Puneet Rajkumar (Santosh) who runs a security firm and is called to protect Srikanth (Vijay Gayakwad), a drug lord, from an impending threat from the other drug lords. The ace actor Sarath Kumar is threatening and stylish but his part is too facile to display any thrills among the viewers.
Aside from Puneet, the villains in the film are the main focus and find them in amplitude, clad in expensive suits. Srikanth Meka too looks elegant and luring in his character, even though he plays an important role, his part fails to impress the viewers. Director Chetan Kumar set up this world by relying heavily on the attractive editing and voice overs used at the beginning of the film. There is a lack of action in the film considering the dangerous world of drug dealing and powers, probably every dispute getting solved after a few fights.
JAMES Movie Review
Chetan Kumar directed this film by setting up a world, referred to as the “Dark” one. The film’s original focus was always on Puneet Rajkumar. The actor steps up to the occasion, with his flawless dancing and action skills, and throughout the film, he is emitting that unique charm. Yet, one can’t help but wonder about the blandness of the story and achievement and how they, in the end, fail to do enough justice to his potential.
The stunning scene where Puneet and Priya Anand reunite after the movie “Raajakumara” (which was released in 2017), fails to show their charm through the screenplay. Her role as Nisha (Vijay Gayakwad’s sister) is prevented by the lack of wholesomeness in the screenplay making the little bit of her portion, bland. But these drawbacks are not necessarily a glitch if we consider the impeccable acting of Puneet Rajkumar. Despite the old-fashioned setting, Puneet Rajkumar doesn’t seem to go out of the frame and manages to light up the screen every time he appears on it. The film offers him a great platform to present the viewers with a few gratifying moments.
James, one of the latest South Indian movies is ultimately a movie sincerely addressing Puneet Rajkumar and his fandom. It is a stylized action thriller with lavishing songs by Charan Raj and effective background music. Though Chetan Kumar chose a common storyline, he was able to showcase Puneet Rajkumar in the best way possible. The rich visuals and production are top-notch along with the action scenes.
The movie ends like every other commercial movie does, with the hero winning and the villains losing. The post-credit scene makes a separate section in honor of the late Puneet Rajkumar, showing various achievements that make him the superstar he is. For the audience, the gleaming face of Puneet Rajkumar will be in their memories for a long time. Despite the glitches, the film will be special for everyone. James can be a good movie to watch on SonyLIV.
