Heartbreak High was released today on Netflix. This series is a remake of the 1999 Australian series which was a hit series at that time.
The plot of the series is when everyone’s secret hook-ups occur at Hartley High, which is a high school. Amerie ( Ayesha Madon) was ignored in school and even her best friend Harper ( Asher Yashincek) ignored her as well because of some mean girls. She has to find her identity at school.
When Millennials/Gen Zers are in high school, this is their experience of growing up. This series will remind you of Sex Education and Elite. This is different from the original version which we’ve seen before.
Netflix has rebooted many series before, including He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and Pokemon Journeys. These series continue in the same way as Hartley High but as teenage dramas.

The characters of this series encompass the heterogeneity of other Aussie shows. A complex relationship between friends like Amerie (Ayesha Madon) and Harper (Asher Yashincek) as well as Missy (Sherry-Lee Watson) and Sasha (Gemma Chang-Tran).
Amerie made new friends with Qunni ( Chole Hayden) and Darren ( James Majoos).
