Disney+Hotstar Comedy Movie Good Luck Jerry Review
Inspired by the Tamil movie Kolamavu Kokila of Tamil, it is an inherent comic film but silently gets serious on a page too. It is vividly said for the middle class that, ‘we are one medical emergency away from poverty’ and the same is shown here. The movie is written by Pankaj Matta, and the inherent comical incident does not tend to show something tough. The first half of the movie was a little fun, the second half cringes and bores a bit.
In terms of plot and structure, the movie stays fairly close to the original in terms of story; neither the Tamil nor Hindi version offers anything new. It was not a weepy drama about a woman getting victimized nor was it about an innocent girl turning into a subtle and strong woman.
it was neither a comical one nor anything loaded with social messages. Compared with the original it still stands out a bit by offering a gullible plot, and a good pace, but unfortunately, all of this is missing Good Luck Jerry and none of the scenes written with the intention to create laughter manages to land and nor the proper emotion could be generated for Jerry and her mother suffering a lot.
The showtime of the movie could also be an issue as in a 2-hour length every situation shown was so fast that it did not last for long. Jhanvi Kapoor has played her role in a good way but she definitely needs to work on her expression and act. Her character seemed ordinary to be played by any other actress available and It wouldn’t stay for long. Deepak Dobriyal as Rinku is exceptionally good.
Conclusion
The same goes with Neeraj Sood, Mita Vashisht, and Santa Sudiksha and they look really natural on screen. The crux could be that the supporting cast was far better than the lead one. Overall Good Luck Jerry is a one-time watch Comedy Movie On Disney+Hotstar and it is something that won’t make a difference missing out.
