The film begins with a combat scenario and a person wearing a prosthetic limb. To prevent a women’s (Elif) marriage from taking place, a sub-lieutenant and a commander are entering into a ’74 model.
Our protagonist, Yüzbasi Salih, embarks on a road trip with a caged bird and his sub-lieutenant. As he tried to liberate the bird, it died. Even yet, he keeps it with him, and no explanation is given until the last 30 min when everything starts to fall apart.
“You have to let go of the dead, buddy, and resume enjoying your life,” says one of the movie’s famous quotes. It was, certainly, a deep exchange that foreshadowed what would happen later in the film.
The film is 1.5 hours long, and everything changed in the last 30 minutes. During that time, it seemed as though Salih, a veteran, was imagining things and wasn’t in his good conscience. This is why he retained the bird in the first place.
Exactly as he stated, “A bird must be able to fly freely. They should be allowed to travel freely. “It was as if he was attempting to break through his sentiments by babbling about himself.
Thirty-two Turkish military personnel were killed, and this film is deeply committed to all of the martyrs and warriors. It portrays the emotional toll that a comrade’s death has. Even if our friends leave us, the memories, promises, and feelings remain. If they do not break away, they may be forced to pay the cost.

Another must-watch movie, in my opinion if you want to witness how a fellow soldier’s death impacts other troops. Salih’s disconnection from the world and subsequent imaginings give me thrills. Warriors are generally admired for their bravery, but what about the rest of us?
What if they live and are able to walk with the help of artificial limbs? If they die, they are respected, but what about those who have no idea what will happen if they have to walk on prosthetics? Several incredibly deep things are shown in the final scene. In portraying all of these events, the artists have provided standout results.
The journey, the sentiments, and the setback Salih is experiencing in his private life, namely, his relationship, make me cry at times. This is a simple timepiece that depicts the reality of a military person.
The end of Godspeed is undoubtedly the most touching part of the film. Even though we know exactly what will happen, seeing the complete scenario is nevertheless an emotional experience for the viewers. The finale is also dramatic, but I think the sentiment and excitement work well with each other, and you feel horrible for Kerim at the very least.
Salih’s mental torment makes clear as the new and old collide. Kerim’s demeanor is sympathetic and heartfelt, which contrasts well with Salih’s bravado.
In their leading parts, Engin Akyürek and Tolga Saritas are compelling. In this warm and, at the same time, cold film, the two perform a wonderful job. The memories are the most interesting parts of the film, while the present drags and upsets you.
Some poignant scenes in Godspeed film will make you feel sorry for everybody involved in these shambles. Despite this, the performers do a tremendous job of bringing these imperfect characters to life.
Netflix’s current release is a clichéd and staged event in which the creators brazenly throw everything but the dinner sink at this catastrophe in the hopes of provoking some type of emotional response from its jaded audience.
