Gadar Ek Prem Katha, The Story: The story takes place in the 1947 India-Pakistan partition where a Muslim girl named Sakeena (Ameesha Patel) is separated from her family during her arrival in Pakistan. She is attacked by some Sikhs who are trying to kill her but a Sikh truck driver named Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) saves her.
He knew her, so he saved and married her. Tara’s family accepted her and they then lived peacefully and became parents of Charanjeet (Utkarash Sharma). Shortly after some time, she decides to pay a visit to her family in Pakistan. Her father, Ashraf Ali (Amrish Puri), is the mayor of Pakistan city.
In order to fulfill her wish, Tara takes her to Pakistan. Meanwhile, they reach there and Sakeena met her family but she was not allowed to return with them and she was forcefully married to a Muslim man.Â
