Dry Day Movie Review– Falls Completly Flat
A Satire comedy-drama film that has been released on Prime Video. The story is about a town in India where a boy Gannu (Jitendra Tripathi) lives who is a complete alcoholic and can’t really live without it. He has an interest in politics and wants to be a corporator of his town. One day Gannu’s wife Nirmala (Shriya Pilgaonkar) threatened him that if he did not give up his drinking habit she would kill his child inside her. Therefore from then and there, Gannu starts a campaign that aims to ban alcohol, it’s not easy therefore he has to face many challenges which have been described in the movie.
The film comes as a social political satire and a message has been given regarding alcoholism which is quite appropriate. The story and execution though is not as entertaining as we can expect from two great actor-led films.
The film neither triggers you at any point nor delivers fun. It falls flat clearly. It also lacks a strong emotional impact. The story is initiated in a simple way. Though Shriya Pilgaonkar and Jitendra Tripathi are one of the finest actors, the establishment of their characters truly lacks the essence. The film therefore is as Dry as its name. The music, production work, and the performance of the actors are well but that cannot stop us from saying that it’s surely a below-average movie.
