Drishyam 2 Review: One of the most awaited sequels of a hit franchise of Ajay Devgan and Tabu has made its way to the theater today after seven years when its original was dropped in 2015. 

Drishyam, a 2015 Nishikant Kamat-directed thriller is among the best Bollywood thrillers to date. Mystery Thriller Drishyam 2 Story And Plot Analysis

The story of Drishyam 2 is clearly connected with its first part and there is a leap of 7 years. Drishyam(2015) followed the story of Vijay’s family where his daughter murdered a boy(son of IG Meera Rajput aka Tabu) who tried to molest her, the story was about the aftermath led event on how the entire family faced the entangled suspense and created a fake scenario perfectly to hide the murder and Vijay Salgaonkar aka Ajay Devgan family gets a clean chit. 

Drishyam 2 story starts from the same point where Drishyam ended, its been 7 years of this unsolved mysterious murder, and a new IG is appointed in the town and again the case re-opens but this time the investigating officer is Tarun Ahlawat aka Akshaye Khanna. Meanwhile, Vijay Salgaonkar and his family are living a simple life somewhere in the mind that they are hiding a dark truth behind. Their fear turns into a reality soon and with the one witness leading, the Skeleton of Meera Rajput’s son gets discovered from the place Vijay has hidden it in the first part.

Malayalam Movie Remake Drishyam 2 Cast Performance

Drishyam is originally a remake of a Malayalam thriller of the same name. The 2015 movie was directed by Nishikant Kamat who did a brilliant job but later his death Drishyam 2 was directed by Abhishek Pathak and undoubtedly he has done a clean work and kept up the mark. 

The movie is a suspense drama and keeps up with the genre it wants to deliver and keeps the audience on the edge of their seat. The film has a relatively focused storyline and the same pitch has been maintained all throughout and is able to make the audience feel the same connection. The direction has become commendable and the script is a pure justice to it. With the perfect friction between the character, the timings and their development looked wholesome. 

The cast is as flawless as it was in the first part and the un-alteration in the cast is what gives the movie a more lively and real touch. The development of the characters can be felt pure. Akshaye Khanna has been added in the main cast but he raises the bar of thrill a step more keeping up the same rage and drama, Tabu is phenomenal as always.

Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, and Mrunal Jadhav have acted as if they are part of the same unit and have been able to match each other’s timing keeping their own touch alive. The climax is astonishing and the suspense it holds has kept up with the audience’s expectations well making it a must-watch.
