Hotstar Dahan Series Review, Plot, Story, And Conclusion

Shilaspura is a remote village that has a dark past. People living there believe that a mountain nearby is cursed, and possesses supernatural powers. With this horrifying fact, nobody meddles with the black magic of that cursed mountain.

The scenario changes when an IAS officer Tisca Chopra is tasked with the development of the area and passes the orders for mining work on that mysterious mountain as it contains some rare metals.

This free thinker IAS officer seems self-assured about her thoughts and without giving any account to villagers’ beliefs, proceeds with the work. As the story flows clash of contemporary thinking versus superstition takes place which makes things interesting.

Myths, dark secrets, and horror when come together result in a deadly combination. Director Vikrant Pawar tried to come up with his best and he did. He is known for his film Kaatal for which he received National Film Award for Best Short Fiction Film and National Film Award for Best Non-Feature Film Direction in 2013.

Tisca Chopra

Main lead actor Tisca Chopra is known for her role in Taree Zameen Par, Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, and Ankur Arora Murder Case and her recent release was Jug Jugg Jiyo with Dharma Production helmed by Raj Mehta.

Saurabh Shukla

Another promising actor which can be seen in the series is Saurabh Shukla who has shown brilliant acting variation in the character played by him from Jolly LLB to Burfi. Dahan is scripted by Nikhil Nair, Nisarg Mehta, and Shiva Bajpayee.

A few days back when the trailer of Dahan was released it gained a huge response as it opened with a bloodied event, where someone tries to enter the cave of a cursed mountain. Subjects related to curses, cults, and paranormal activities are always fascinating and can drive anybody’s attention.

In today’s modern times when technology and science are growing at a fast rate, many of us don’t believe in Supernatural powers. In an interview actor, Tisca Chopra was asked to share her experience with any such incident.

She narrated an interesting tale “I most certainly had experienced certain energies, also some weird incidents that have no explanation. Once on the Western Express Highway, it was super scary. Late one night, a terrible accident happened right in front of our eyes, we saw a woman die and when we came back to look for the body, there was nothing”.

It is not only the actor but everyone who has some spooky incident they have come across in their life which indicates that Supernatural powers exist. Watching horror movies with lights off, and half-closed eyes, and draping oneself in a bedsheet is a thrill and the same goes with the series even though Dahan has emphasized more myths, dark secrets, superstitions, generation secrets, cursed caves, and hidden treasure.
