Avril Ramona Lavigne is a Canadian singer and songwriter. Her professional name is Avril Lavigne.

 Avril was born on 27 September 1984, in Belleville, Ontario. Her parents identified her singing abilities when she was 2 years old and sang " Jesus Loves Me".

 At 16 Avril signed a two-record album contract with Arista Records. Her debut solo album was Let Go in 2002.
